ATTENDEE Switching to the NWA approach (Native Web App: see topic) will make unnecessary to install the app and to access the Calendar from the web, only to get a personal event code. The event detail will give access directly to the feedback panel. You will login once to the WE-COLLAB site from the cell, ask for keeping you connected, and save the link as an icon in the main screen. LECTURER Suggestions to make it easier to follow the attendees' reactions are welcome. In any case, I think that, if improving teaching is an objective, it would be very useful if somebody assists the lecturer both in exploiting the Event Dashboard and, more in general, in getting the pulse of the situation. |

Since July we at LINK solicited the partners to comment on the current choice of the "verbs" labelling the reaction buttons, but we got no contributions. Trying to match the 9 verbs in performative style with aspects of cognitive and emotional states such as attention, cognitive effort and emotional engagement could be difficult or unfeasibile; a possible solution could be:

Gytis, Matias, Mary and others are worried for missing iOS support. It wasn't planned in the Workplan; however we expect to answer the request by providing soon a web version of the app compatible with most mobile browsers. I will explain later why I think that the "Native Web App" (NWA) approach could be appropriate in our case. |

Ciao. Nella home della comunità ASMI, sulla destra, trova un bottone per chiedere l'adesione. Poi tu (o un altro amministratore) lo accetti, a partire dall'elenco delle richieste di adesione, che si troverà subito sotto l'elenco dei membri. |

GLI EXTERNAL REPOSITORY L'aggiunta (catalogazione) di Repository Esterni (fonti di OER) è stata l'attività iniziale dei partner durante il progetto Erasmus+ "CommonS"; a questa operazione era dedicato uno specifico progetto, che divenne presto inattivo, comunque dopo aver censito circa 150 Repository. In seguito abbiamo recuperato tale funzione; ma, per non affollare troppo la UI di un generico progetto, l'abbiamo relegata nei progetti "di supporto". Pensate che un bottone "Aggiungi Repository Esterno" dovrebbe trovarsi in tutti i progetti? Un'alternativa è quella di creare un progetto di supporto all'interno della Comunità ASMI, per catalogare le fonti ed eventualmente per svolgere altre attività di servizio. |

Ancora non sappiamo bene quale sarà il ruolo di questa comunità in CS, all'interno del più ampio progetto ASMI, la relazione tra CS e il sito ufficiale ASMI, i collegamenti fisici online che stabiliremo (tramite protocolli ?) con iniziative internazionali aventi scopi analoghi. Comunque mi limito,per ora, a proporre alcuni criteri generali per l'uso di CS; così, alla spicciolata; in questo post e in altri che seguiranno anche in reazione ai contributi degli altri. PRINCIPIO DI NON DUPLICAZIONE Evitare di memorizzare fisicamente una risorsa in CS se l'originale o una copia sono accessibili online altrove. QUANDO USARE I PROGETTI Come dicevo a Giovanni C., di preferenza un "progetto" o "sottoprogetto" in CS serve a creare uno spazio di collaborazione tra più persone. Per creare raccolte di risorse o riferimenti e/o recensioni, conviene usare i Learning Path (LP). Con l'uso, questo tipo di oggetti in CS ha assunto un ruolo più esteso di quanto il nome suggerisce. QUANDO USARE LE CARTELLE DI PROGETTO Credo che convenga usarle per raccogliere e condividere documenti di lavoro. Non sono il massimo per pubblicare le risorse, cioè condividerle con tutti. QUANDO CREARE GLI OER L'OER (risorsa educativa aperta) è stato il primo tipo di oggetto progettato in CS. Il suo ruolo è di recensire una risorsa e consentire la sua valutazione (della risorsa e della recensione stessa) da parte di altri. E' anche il principale mattoncino di base nella creazione di un LP. Può includere allegati, cioè oggetti digitali in loco, ma è meglio se fa riferimento a risorse già online. GLI EXTERNAL REPOSITORY Una nozione da recuperare (ci ritornerò) è quello di repository (raccolta, deposito) esterno di risorse, come Youtube, Slideshare, il sito ASMI, una open library, ecc. Un Repository è uno strumento di aggregazione di OER virtuale, facente riferimento alla fonte, a differenza di un LP che è costruito in base all'uso previsto. Ogni OER ha un campo in cui si può, appunto, specificare il Repository di origine. |

donatella.cesareni Ciao Donatella, come puoi vedere, i forum tematici sono aperti a tutti. Tu ne hai potuto creare uno perché sei Amministratrice di una Comunità. Io me ne sono reso conto perché ho visto un numerello rosso accanto all'icona Forum(una nuvoletta) nella barra d'utente, che mi segnalava un post non letto; come qui  A parte questo, vuoi veramente discutere di Covid o si trattava solo di una prova? |

Call for action "Register now" in the Homepage In response to the suggestions put forward during the last meeting of the Editorial Board, mainly by Christophe and Inés, Mariarosaria has implemented a new (tentative ?) layout of the Homepage, with different versions for anonymous and authenticated users. The version for anonymous users keeps the upper green band, with a slightly modified text and a call for action "Register now". In the version for authenticated users - the upper green band has been removed - the section including Featured items and a selection of Recent/Popular contents has moved up. |

Press releases and Featured items I've just updated the Help page Editorial tools, documenting: - the current solution for the publishing of the Press releases - a slightly improved UI for creating/editing the Featured items, on which is based the composition of the left column of the dynamic part of the Homepage. |

Language selection In the menubar, we added a widget showing the current language setting and allowing to change the language setting for the UI of the CommonS Platform; this holds for the current user session and doesn't impact the language setting of the browser. |

Learning Paths of type DAG A first implementation is now available of the Learning Paths having the structure of a Direct Acyclic Graph (DAG). This structure can be edited by visual manipulation, as described in the Help page on Learning paths. Currently, DAGs are "played" much like the LPs of type Collection: the nodes are sequenced in an automatic way, insensible to the context. |

Support projects We revised a little the functionality of the projects of type "support", that is of projects not directly related to learning activities. They can be created only as direct children of a community. For the support projects, we introduced the possibility of adding new members on the initiative of the Supervisors, bypassing the normal application-acceptation workflow. Inside the "CommonS Consortium" community, I created a support project reserved to the members of the Editorial Staff. They will be enabled to edit, through the "admin UI" of the Django framework, contents such as blog entries and "flat pages"; these are hand-made HTML pages like those in the Help section. |

User dashboard and User profile Mariarosaria has done some refurbishing of the User dashboard (a kind of personal homepage) and of the User profile. Among other things, the uploading of the user avatar has been improved. |

Javascript libraries integrated in the Platform As I wrote in another forum, I started to develop a visual interface for the editing of LPs of type DAG (directed acyclic graph). I started with the evaluation of available Javascript libraries that could match, on the client side, the data model for DAG-shaped LPs on the server side. I just integrated in the CommonS Platform the following JS libraries: jointjs, dagre and graphlib, besides backbone, which is a kind of framework. Currently, the only LP on which I'm experimenting the development is Web mapping e georeferenziazione, which in fact is just a sequence. Members of the project Translations and Testing can already view some editing hooks in the view of said LP: please, do not execute editing commands, since they are not working properly! |

Is possible to change the order of messages?Hi Inês, I tried to patch the forum app that is integrated inside the Platform, to reverse the order of the messages; but I see a drawback: the form to submit a new post, at the end of the page, no more would follow the last post. I propose a compromise: 1) change the setting defining the number of posts per page, possibly from 10 to 20; 2) avoid topics lasting too long: for giving news on Platform development, I could start a new topic each month. |

Project analytics Now a link to a Recent activity page is available in the right column of the Project home if project-related actions have been recorded for the last week. Also, I added a page on Analytics to the Help menu. |
